November weekend walking badge

I completed a 3.25 mile walk recorded on my forerunner 735 XT, Nov 28, To meet the November weekend walking badge (3 Miles or more between November 26-28) but the badge was not awarded stating I did not meet the challenge. Obviously I didn’t meet the requirements so why was his badge not awarded?

  • Double check this:

    1. Have you joined the challenge? Is it visible in the past challenge section? https://connect.garmin.com/modern/challenge
    2. Did you use the correct activity type? The walking must be logged as "Walking". It doesn't matter what your watch call it. Check in Garmin Connect that it says walking. See my screenshot.
    3. Did you sync before noon the day after the challenge ended?
    4. Logged with a Garmin device? Yes, you say that is was logged with your FR735XT so that should be ok.

  • Though  it was clearly recorded as a walk, it shows up as “other” in the activity area that you circled on the screenshot. I’ve never noticed this before. Again it says walk in other places on my Garmin connect and on the watch. Why would it show up as “other” in the activity Area you circled?

  • Your watch doesn't support the Walking activity so it can't report walks. What you must do is that after you've logged the activity is to edit the activity and change type to "Walking".

You probably see walking as the activity profile name on the watch and the title in Garmin Connect. For the challenges and badges that doesn't matter. Only the activitity type is what counts which is shown in the area that I've circled in the screenshot.

It is too late to do this now since the challenge has ended, but do that for the future activities that you want to log as walking.

  • Thanks. I have learned something and will edit in future!!!
