FYI Post: Vivoactive 3 Calorie adjustment jumped 15x. Appears to be GC to MFP app connection failure

Hi, I have a well-loved vivoactive 3. using android connect, and data ported to myfitnesspal. Sometime in the last 5-6 days, the GC calorie adjustment jumped about 15x. As of this morning (11/18/21), I have been in the house working with just 1,000 steps. I've gotten a calorie adjustment for the day of 853 calories, already. That calorie burn is usually associated with about 15-20K steps, so a minimum of a 15x increase in adjustment. It took digging, but it appears that the the GC app was no longer syncng with MyFitnessPal. So MFP was running an estimate based on a number of weird factors that are clearly huge assumptions. If you go to your main Garmin Connect PC app and open your main dashboard. Then scroll to Calories In/Out widget, you will see a "sync" command. Click on that. Also, for me, it had the error of something like "no longer syncing, sync now?" Clicking on that linked the two apps and synced and the aberrant false calorie adjustment was removed for the actual. Mischief managed! Just an FYI as I'm sure I'm not the only one who had this problem. If yours is different and this doesn't help, sorry and best of luck!

  • Also, it only corrected for today, so the other days didn't seem to get corrected. That is awesome because I clearly burned all those extra calories and now can go get an extra all you can eat sushi lunch. #gamethesystem #lifeisgood  :)
