Traning Status not updating from Zwift

Hello,

I've been experiencing some difficulties with Training Status in the Garmin Connect in the past week.

I cycle on Zwift (power + HR belt) and would turn on my Edge 830 to update the status previously. It worked well for the past two weeks, but it stopped on November 14th.

My Edge syncs with Garmin Connect after the activity has been uploaded by zwift, but training status is not updating. It shows "no status". "Load Focus", "Exercice Load" and "7-Day Load" work well and are updated. Only the training status is not displayed.

I have performed 6 activities since but to no success. I have version 4.49 of Garmin Connect (updated on November 11th).

Anyone else is experimenting similar issue?

  • Well I recorded with all 3. Zwift, 5x plus, and Edge. All were paired to my power meter and HR. The 5x and Edge uploaded and gave me an updated Training Status. The Zwift ride uploaded as well but for some reason is not showing up in either device history, only on Garmin Connect. Will do a Zwift only ride tomorrow and see if anything updates now that I have a recent device upload.

  • after a couple days I can confirm this is working as mostly intended. I did a dual/triple record to get my 5x plus and Edge 530 back in action. After even deleting the device recordings and keeping the zwift it gave me a training status. Another ride today also updated it, even tho different scores between 5x Plus and Edge 530 given their First Beat differences.

Thanks for the help! It seems that what you mentioned, making sure the device records a ride or run to get an original training status must be done prior to Zwift affecting anything.

  • I see that your Training Status has returned on November 20th after syncing.  Please be sure to sync your Edge device often to continue to receive an updated Training Status.

  • Indeed, as I'm double recording with my edge 830 onwards. My edge transfers the data to GC and Zwift to Strava. That way, it does update my Vo2 max on GC, which was not updated by only pushing data from Zwift to Garmin Connect. TS is also working. Kinda sucks that this feature cannot be implimented seamlesly with zwift only when training indoors.

    Thank you for your help.

  • I too have suddenly experienced a loss of Training Status summary, for no obvious reason (I.e. no device config changes). I see my training status dropped from Maintaining to Recovering on 10 November which is when I suspect that new data to feed the training status has stopped coming through.

Since then I have done 6 outdoor rides using a Garmin Edge 1000, 1 indoor run on a treadmill using a Garmin Forerunner 945LTE and 1 indoor ride synced via Zwift with HR data included.

I’d be happy to give permission for my data to be accessed and for me to be contacted, in order to help diagnose the underlying issues.

  •  I'm sorry to hear of the issues that you're having with Training Status (TS).  Because the Edge 1000 is not a Training Status compatible device, having it in the equation will not be of any use, as far as maintaining a TS goes.  The Forerunner 945 LTE is a TS compatible device, so what you will need to do is record a cycling activity with heart rate and power data and sync that to your account.  Then, as long as your syncing your 945 LTE 2x per day, your future Zwift rides should contribute to your Training Load (TL) and TS.
