Customize apps that sends notifications to iPhone

Hello,

would it be possible for you to add app notifications settings to Garmin Connect for iOS? I would love to be able to choose apps that sends notifications to Garmin device on iOS as I am able to do when I am using Garmin Connect for Android.

I know that iOS has some limitations but Fitbit and even cheap chinese smartwatches mobile apps offer this kind of customization in their iOS apps so it is doable. I personally would like to mirror notifications only from communication apps.

Hello rmnkdlc. This is currently possible for iOS, though you will adjust the settings in your iOS settings instead of in the Garmin Connect mobile app. See the FAQ below for more:

Hey Kevin, thank you for your answer. I wasnt aware of this and while it is not an ideal solution for me as I would love to have all my notifications in notifications center I will check it out and try it :) Thanks

Hi Kevin. Thanks for the reply. Are there plans of implementing the notification settings within the Garmin Connect app for iOS just like it's implemented in Android? It seems like it would be much easier enabling/disabling notifications within the Garmin Connect app rather than going into the system settings.

Because of the way that the iOS communicates with the Garmin Connect app, it is currently not possible to "move" the notification settings into the Garmin Connect app. Because of this, we currently have no plans to relocate the notification settings into the app itself.

still, Fitbit and some other smartwatches managed to move it to their iOS apps. But I guess your developers are aware of their competitors and what is technically possible. I am kinda OK with your current solution even it has some limitations for my usage

Thanks for the reply, Kevin. As rmnkdlc points out, other companies have successfully integrated notification settings within their iOS apps so it just seems like a missed opportunity for Garmin and a way for other companies to gain a competitive advantage. For instance, here is a screenshot of the way Fossil integrates notification settings in their iOS app. It works in the exact same way as notification settings work in the Garmin Connect Android app.

It should be possible. Even Xiaomi with their €30 Mi Band have it working with no issues, bot for some reason Garmin for 10 times that cannot do it.

It really seems so strange that other companies/competitors have done this in their apps iOS (Xiaomi, Coros, Fossil, etc) and Garmin has not. What seems even more strange is why Garmin would have the functionality for the Android app and not for the iOS app when they could implement it in iOS.

Whether Garmin provides customizable notifications or not, I am buying an iPhone. If Garmin can't provide, I will also buy an Apple watch. The silence in this thread from Garmin is deafening.
