- Did a decent run in York and for some reason missed first couple of kilometres and first couple of kilometres not recording correct pace…. strange any ideas?
Did you allow your Garmin to get a good GPS lock before heading off?
Thanks no probably not!!! I just assumed it would kick in not 2-3k later!
It will take longer time to get the GPS lock if you are moving. Best is to stand still until you get the signal that GPS position is found. To get an even better position you should stand still for another 1-2 minutes after the green GPS signal.
Most watches can still calculate the correct distance from the accelerometer (steps and step distance).
