App uninstalled from IOS but notifications still appear on watch????

Uninstalled the Garmin app on IOS but notifications still appear on Garmin watch? Assume watch received via wifi, but how is Garmin still accessing my phone?

Notifications are not sent over Wifi.

Remove the watch from the bluetooth settings in the phone.

How the notifications still can work is a bit odd, but on iOS the watch just shows all notifications that are displayed on the phone so it might access it someway different that on Android.

The watch might be registered in the OS to receive notifications and wasn't removed during uninstall.
