Trouble with Bluetooth connection, syncing, or pairing Edge devices on iOS 14.8

Can connect to Iphone with ios 14.8 in bluetooth settings it can see the device.  In the app it also sees the device and suggests to pair but doesnt come out in the “select and accessory”

tried all possible in the troubleshooting. 

then decided to pair to an ipad with ios 14.7.1 it paired with 1 try.

confirmed that the connect is updated on appstore.

any suggestions?

  • Hello .  Please follow steps below to prep your phone, watch, and Garmin Connect mobile app for the pairing process.

    1. Open Garmin Connect App.  Click on the "More" option in the bottom right of your screen.  After clicking on "More", select "Garmin Devices".  If you do not see your device listed, good, we do not want it listed.  If you do see it listed, click on the device.  That will take you to the device page, which will have 3 blue dots in the top right of the page.  Click on those blue dots and select "Remove Device".
    2. After removing your device for the Garmin Connect App, I'd like you to go into your iPhone's Settings Application.  Select the option for Bluetooth.  If your device is not listed, good, we do not want it listed.  If you do see it listed, click on the blue 'i' on the right side of the line for that device.  Select "Forget This Device".
    3. Power cycle your phone.
    4. On your Edge, press and hold the power button until it turns off.  Ignore anything you see on the screen.  Just hold the button down until the screen goes blank.  This may take up to 90 seconds.  After letting your Edge sit powered off for a few seconds, press and release the power button to power on the device.
    5. Put your Edge into Bluetooth pairing mode.
    6. In the Garmin Connect mobile app, go to More>Garmin Devices>Add Device.
    7. Follow prompts in the mobile app to complete the pairing process.

    If this is unsuccessful, please reach out to your local Garmin Support team directly so that they can gather additional information and diagnostic logs.

  • Hi Kevin thank you for the detailed step by step instructions.  However still stuck at select an accessory box and dowsnt display the edge530 there

  • Please provide a screenshot of what you see on that "select an accessory box" screen that shows the Edge 530 not listed.
