IOS 12.5.4 cannot install garmin connect why?

Hello, i have an iphone 5 with ios 12.5.4 and cannot install garmin connect to sync my watch?

any idea why it does not work and what aletrnative to have for the phone?

Garmin Connect Mobile requires iOS 13 or higher.

You will have to sync with a computer.
