Garmin connect on iPhone 5s

Hi - I have an old iPhone 5s I'm giving my son and want to DL the Garmin Connect app so he can pair w his Forerunner. Unfortunately the app is only compatible w IOS 13 or higher and 5s only goes up to IOS 12. Do we have any options around this or just SOL?

Pretty much SOL.

Few companies have interest in maintaining software versions for unsupported and out of date platforms.

Keep in mind, when it comes to hardware support, Apple is one of the best.

iOS 15 works great on my original iPhone SE (which was released in early 2016).

I don't expect iOS 16 to work with it though.
