Garmin reports all activites as "run" to strava

I have a Garmin Forerunner 245 music and I have synced all my activities to Strava. It works great except that whenever I do a non run/walk activity, it gets reported as a run to Strava. For example if I play tennis for 1hr it gets reported as a 1hr run with 0km to Strava which ruins all my statistics... I have tried to create custom activities with GPS off according to another forum thread with no success...

To be clear, custom created activities AND activities such as "Strength" gets reported as a run.

I have already been in contact with Strava and the problem seems to be on the Garmin side of the communication.

Strava doesn't have a Tennis or Strength training activity ... so it's probably using a best guess to determine the type based on the activity.

No thats not it, strava said that they classify all "unknown types" as "workout" and not run, so Garmin has to be reporting it as a run when sending the information to strava
