Edge 810 Bluetooth Sync with App

I can see this has been a problem for years but I haven't seen a solution for it. If I create a route/course in Connect on my mac, it is automatically in my ios app, so when I go for a ride I should be able to switch my 810 on, and choose send to device and the edge and my phone sync over bluetooth, however this never happens and I have to sync through Garmin Express, which is a real faff(!). What is the solution. I've tried swtiching on / off, disconnect / reconnect, etc etc and no joy. Software on Edge 810 is 6.3 and ios is up to date too.

Can you sync your activities from the Edge to the app or do you have to use Garmin Express for that? Edge 810 is from 2013 so it is rather old and sync with the app was starting somewhere around 2013.

It says you must connect it to a computer.

It uses the app.

hi - thanks for response.

when i complete an activity it syncs straight back to garmin and links to strava, just can't go the other way. it trys to, so thinks it can, but just can't get itself to do it. i'm pretty sure it has been able to do it in the past, i appreciate it is a few years old and they build in obsolescence.
