Move IQ duplicating tracked activities

I have just got a venu 2s after upgrading from a 4s to a venu and now this watch. It’s my third GAr in and I’ve never come across this issue  with any of my previous watches.
I have Move IQ activated on my app but it is duplicating my tracked activities so when I do a run and use my run function on my venu 2, Move IQ tracks the activity as well and doubles my intensity minutes. Very annoying if you want accurate intensity minutes.
Has this happened to anyone else and to you know how to fix it? I have Move IQ turned off for now but I would like to be able to use this function when I’m not tracking my activity.

  • That shouldn't have any effect. The watch don't care about Move IQ or if you have a started activity for intensity minutes. It just looks at your heart rate and if you are over the threshold for intensity minutes (moderate intensity) you get them. You get double intensity minutes if your heart rate is even higher (vigorous intensity).

Have you checked that it isn't just the double intensity minutes you get for an activity of vigorous intensity?

Check the intensity minutes card to see how many moderate, vigorous and total minutes you got. You can also see how many minutes of each type you get from each activity if you scroll down in the Intensity minutes page.

  • Yeah I have checked if it is just the vigorous activity that is being doubled but it is the full activity. It hasn’t happened on any of my other Garmin watches so think it might be a malfunction. If i do a run and get 80 intensity minutes on the activity, Move IQ will give me the same intensity minutes so my run totals 160 minutes which isn’t correct if that makes sense.

  • What is the setting for intensity minutes? Automatic or heart rate zones?
How does the graph "Time in Heart Rate Zones" look like for that activity?

Are you saying that you get the correct result for intensity minutes if you turn Move IQ off?

  • All the other metrics look right but the intensity minutes are being calculated by my tracked activity and again by the move IQ activity. If I turn off Move IQ my intensity minutes calculate correctly

  • Were you able to solve this issue? I just realised I have exactly the same problem. Like you I’d like to keep Move IQ on for when I am not tracking my activity, but this causes activity minutes to be doubled for tracked activities. Thanks

  • I did t get it resolved. I just turned off move iq. Shame really. I live my garmin and it is the fourth one I have owned and I’ve never had this issue before

  • I seem to be seeing the same problem. Seems like an easy software fix. But has to get done. I guess for now the solution is to turn MoveIQ off.

  • Same here, move iq duplicates of tracked exercises. Noticed only yesterday, I think it was all good before.

Also, the move iq activities used to be pretty spot on, now I see biking, cross training, etc. All things I really don’t do. It’s messy.

  • I also have the same issue with move iq.

  • I also have this problem but I didn’t notice until recently. It’s been happening since July. I get duplicate activities every time.
