Garmin Connect does NOT transfer cycle data to Apple Health

Garmin Connect does not support transferring cycle data to Apple Health, it does support, steps, walking, running and 10 other categories. I am told only 9 other people have requested this which seems very odd. Creating this post to get attention to this and hopefully fixed asap.

I have the same issue. All my fitness data is synced from Garmin to Apple Health. For an unknown reason no cycling data is transfered.
I can´t select Garmin as a data source for cycling btw. There is just Strava as a source. I tested this without any success.
I would be happy if this will be analyzed and fixed soon.

Any synced data is done wrongly (see the countless threads here and in other sections). This has been the case for years and honestly I haven’t found any other medium to large software house with such issues.

Your basically asking to add more garbage data on Apple Health.
My opinion is that they won’t ever fix that because they are competitors with Apple itself.

At least F*tb*t decided not to sync anything at all and Apple Health, leaving 3rd party developers to do that. Garmin should choose the same route, as current strategy only leads to confusion and customer support cases.

I tried quiet some time to get the sync working with my new bought Edge 1030. Absolutely shocked to find this thread, that it is not implemented (and obviously for 11 months now). Think I will return the Edge. Honestly, I understand they want to draw you into their cloud offerings, but I want best of both worlds. Garmin might have an edge on some sports data, on general health recommendation, they won't ever beat Apple. Totally disappointing to not use both services properly at the same time.

but this is just another way of pushing it. I just submitted mine.

Have the same problems and I do not understand Garmin here. Will sell my Edge 830 again if there is no solution soon.

There is a workaround: install strava app, connect Strava account with garmin connect, and give the Strava app all the necessary permissions for synchronization with Apple Health and Garmin Connect.
That's it

That only partially works, Strava does not forward any heart rate data for activities that do not originate in Strava. So the only data Strava sends to Apple Health that originated in Garmin is cycling distance and exercise time which is not enough to be useful to apps that need heart rate data like Athlytic, Training Today, etc. It's a fairly useless integration and not a workaround.
