Today's ride won't upload to Garmin Connect

Hi I did a ride today which I wanted to upload to tmy Garmin Connect account online and then Strava. Usually once i complete my rider, end ride and save ride the ride automatically stores on my Garmin Edge 1000 and then only Garmin Connect iPhone App and on Strava. The ride has saved to my devise but it is not on either Garmin Connect or Strava.

I have tried disconnecting my device and reconnecting. Deleting the App and re installing it. Rebooting both my iPhone and devise with no result. I have saved it on my devise as a course but again it has not synced to my Garmin Connect.

I have compiled a new route on my laptop and saved it to my garmin connect and then sent it to my device and this has worked fine but when i try to upload the ride the other way it simply says upload failed.

The ride is there only device history but i just cant get it off the device and on the the app or computer . I am using a MacBook Air and there is no USB ports.

Any advice would be great. Thank you

Matt

Possibly a corrupt activity (fit file). Try a manual upload of your activity to Garmin Connect. If you have a new Macbook Air, it has a Thunderbolt (USB C) / USB 4 port. So if you can connect your Edge using a USB to Thunderbolt (USB C) connector, you should be able to do this.

Search amazon or apple for "USB-C to USB Adapter." Probably something you should have anyway for the Edge as well as any other devices that are still using USB type A connectors.

Otherwise, you'll need to find a different computer to complete this task - How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. It is likely corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., then share a link to the file in your post.
  • Thats great thank you for your help. I followed a course on the Garmin. At the Finnish I continued to ride with sort of confused the device. The battery was also low by the time I actually finished also. I am just on Amazon now purchasing a USB adapter. Once i get my garmin device connected i will see if i can follow your instructions and if not (i am useless) i may come back to you if that's ok. Thank you again for your help. Matt
