Can't sync steps from vivofit without Wi-Fi

iPhone must be internet connected as of about a month ago. EXTREMELY unhappy with this new defect. I go to a friends house and they don’t have WiFi but I get a lot of steps in at the huge park nearby. Please send my complaint to SW architect. Have vivo fi.

    I don't think this is new. This has been the standard workflow for as long as I've been using Garmin Connect Mobile.

    Can you not use the cellular network for Garmin Connect or just wait until you have an Internet connection? Since this is working as designed, you should submit a request using the web form here - Share Ideas | Garmin

  • This happened two updates ago. It worked perfectly until then without internet. Cellular network doesn’t fix it. I have Wi-Fi at my house but that is days later. I submitted a request. I can’t be the only one with this problem. The software architect needs to know that it’s a problem.

  • Which vivofit do you have? Original, 2, 3, or 4? Must be something with the way the vivofit works. I have a Forerunner and have never had any issues recording steps and syncing with Garmin Connect without wi-fi. Only using cellular network, basically in the middle of nowhere. It's still on the Internet, just not connected to Wi-Fi. If this is something that is now broken but worked before, suggest contacting Garmin Support - https://support.garmin.com

  • Garmin Connect has never worked without an internet connection via Wi-Fi or mobile/cellular network. To sync your watch with Garmin Connect you therefor need to have an internet connection.

    It would be great with offline sync and it has been requested since long time ago, but it is not yet supported and I don't believe it will be added soon. 

  • It worked fine without Wi-Fi until 3 updates ago. I just used cellular network. Now it has “No internet connection” at the top in red. I was using vivo fit original but now I have a vivo fit 2 and the SAME THING IS HAPPENING. I was hoping your latest update would have the fix but NO!

  • I'm not an iPhone user so I can't test, but is there any setting for limiting cellular network use per app?
