Android phone

Daughter has android phone and Garmin connect app is vastly different to mine on my iPhone, I thought the apps would be identical but hers makes finding info difficult

  • iOS and Android got different standards for how user interfaces should work so it can be tricky to move between the systems if you are not used to the differences. Apps should follow the standards for each operating system and not try to implement everything exactly the same on both.

One of the biggest advantages with Android is the back navigation. iOS requires a back button to navigate back or the old tab bar to find your way back to the main screens. On Android there is a button at the bottom of the screen that will always take you back to the previous screen (or at least supposed to). It can look a bit different on different phones and it can be implemented in different ways and also configured in different ways on each phone. With Android you are free to do whatever you like, but it can also be a bit confusing if you come from the Apple side where there is only one way to do it: The Apple Way :-)
