When I accept challenges for walking like the 90 miles in a month or yoga challenges, I never get credit when I sync

Why don’t I get credit or show any progress on challenges for yoga or walking the 90 miles in a month? It’s very discouraging!

  • Two things that many people miss:

    • You must join the challenge
    • You must log your activity with a Garmin device.

If you joined the challenge and logged it with a Garmin device but still get no progress could you post a link to at least one activity that should count for one of those challenges.

It is easiest to do that in Garmin Connect Web. Make sure that the activity is public so we can view it.

The link will look something like this (my morning walk): https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/6758912147

  • Hi there

my settings are set to Everyone

    I use a Garmin 735 for running

I use an Edge 530 for outdoor cycling

For cycling indoors, my Data automatically uploads to Garmin from Zwift.  Yet I never get the badges for the cycling challenges. My Zwift is linked to my Garmin Connect, is this why the challenge badges don’t show up for cycling as I don’t record them using the Edge 530 when using my trainer?

Also do I need to sync after automatic updates from my watch

Yes. You must record them with the Edge (or any other Garmin device). Zwift does not count for challenges and badges.

  • Here is my example: I did not have this set to public, it is now, this has never been an issue on achieving points from challenges before. I did record this ‘after the fact’ and not ‘live’ if that makes a difference.

  • It is reported as Hiking which isn't counted for walking. If you change the type to walking it should count for walking challenges.
