Pair Vivosmart 4 With App

Deleted/forgot other Vívosmart 4.  Followed instruction online with Garmin.  Phone sees device and Garmin connect sees it.  But, message keeps flashing "Bluetooth pairing request, "Vívosmart 4 would like to pair with your iPhone.  Enter the code shown on vívosmart 4.  etc.  Tried the serial number but the keypad that keeps flashing off and on has no provision for changing from numbers to letters.  Where does this "code" come from?

Thanks

  • Follow these instructions and video. Be sure to remove all Garmins from the Garmin Connect app and forget all Garmins in iPhone BT settings.

    • Verify that you're running the latest release of Garmin Connect Mobile iOS.
    • In the Garmin Connect app remove Garmin - More > Garmin Devices > select your Garmin device > Remove Device (do the same for any other Garmin devices)
    • On your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device (do the same for any other Garmin devices listed)
    • If you have any other mobile devices (phones, tablets) nearby and paired with the Garmin, also do the same there - Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • Restart iPhone
    • Restart Garmin
    • Place your Garmin in pairing mode  - depends on model, but usually hold MENU > select Pair Phone.
    • Pair using Garmin Connect, not your phone's Bluetooth settings.

  • Didn't work.  Removing all thinsg Garmin and starting over.  I think it is looking for a code from Apple.  I onlny do this every two or three years, depending on the life of the device.  last VivioSmart 4 last two before band gave up ghost.  So here I am.  Thanks

  • I think it is looking for a code from Apple.

The Bluetooth code is from the watch. It will be displayed on your watch, then that is entered by you into the Garmin app when prompted.  Contact Garmin support  https://support.garmin.com. Suggest phone call for faster service and one-on-one support.

  • Actually it is a wristband but same applies.  I am pretty sure the device is defective.  Keep getting a check charging cable message and am positive both cables (Old one and new one) plugged in correctly.  Both cables charge old vivosmart 4.  Thanks to all who tried to help.  Case closed.  Garmin return.

  • Case closed.

Great. Thumbsup Then I'll close this thread.
