why are not all downloaded golf courses showing up in the list?

Garmin Connect - Downloaded Golf Courses shows only "some" of the downloaded courses.  When I go to "add" "+" a course, type in the name in the search box, it shows the course as already downloaded - with a check mark. However, this course does NOT show up in the list of downloaded courses. When I select this course - it shows me a map and indicates the course is downloaded - but it is not in the list of downloaded courses to select. WTF?  If the course is not in the list - it won't download to a Vivo 3 Music device. Bottomline - I can select from some of the courses that are downloaded - but I have several that I can't. No obvious differences - but several courses I play won't load or appear in the list - even though they indicate they are downloaded in the Garmin Connect App.

Help?

  • Have you tried downloading the courses on Connect? Then syncing. Instead of the Golf Garmin app. This worked for my device (venu sq). I believe the Golf app is faulty, even after reinstalling. Hope this helps.

  • It also worked for me (Fenix 5X). Make sure you have the latest map updates.

  • Same things happened to me. But when I was at the course it worked no problem.

  • I realized although my Garmin was working last week, it was at the same course already downloaded.

There’s two apps: Garmin golf app and there’s the Garmin IQ app where courses must be downloaded on both applications. If 5 courses are on the Garmin Golf app they will not also be downloaded on the Garmin IQ app-both apps has to be downloaded separately. Two apps Garmin family, 2 apps.

    Happy swinging! Golfer‍♀️

  • I have Garmin IQ on my phone do not see where in Garmin IQ you download golf courses.  There is a separate garmin golf app where they're downloaded as well but mine still do not populate in my watch.

  • Hello, you will need to use the Garmin Connect app to download courses to your watch.

  • Yes this is how I have downloaded them through Garmin connect as well as on to the Garmin watch.  I still have connection issues where only a couple courses have downloaded....

Garmin IQ is something separate & not where courses are downloaded...I was confused by your msg.

There's also a Garmin golf app you can download on your phone use that instead of your watch but that defeats the purpose of having the watch for golf outing

  • I have the same issue. I am on holiday from NZ and am in the UK, the uk courses are downloading on the app, I sync with my watch but they don’t appear on the watch

  • Long story to help everyone troubleshoot (TLDR: My newly added courses don’t appear at home [far from course] and then appear on watch once I get close to newly added course.):

I had this problem back in November. I sat at my house all morning trying to get the course I was playing that afternoon to appear on my watch. It drove me crazy. I spend hours in the forums looking for a solution. Finally, I had to leave for my round. All the way to the course I kept re-syncing, re-starting, etc. Then, all of a sudden the course I was playing appeared. I chalked the course appearing up to good luck and gave up on trying to repeat the process. Fast forward to this past Monday. I was playing a new course an hour away. Same thing happened: spent the day before my round trying to get the course on my watch, with no luck. After driving at the course I decided to check my watch to see if I could "luck out" again. Sure enough, the course was there.

I saw in the Garmin troubleshooting articles that only the closest five courses appear on your watch. *Something* weird is still going on because when I’m at home there are courses appearing on my watch that I would never have added (fancy private country clubs), but - they are close nonetheless.

My suggestion: Add the course to your watch and then once you get to the course, sync the watch again to see if the course is there.
