Connect Mobile messaging fails after leaving iPhone (12)

I regularly miss calls / messages because the smartphone notifications are no longer displayed on my Instinct. When I check Bluetooth / Garmin Connect, my (Instinct) device appears to be connected to my iPhone / Connect. When I close the Connect app and restart the instinct everything works again for some time.

The trigger for this issue looks to be when I am too far away for my connection, and reconnection is not fully a real reconnection (although Connect and BT say it is reconnected. Instinct version 13.20 Iphone 12 version 14.4.2

As a workaround I restart Connect Mobile App every once in a while. Anyone here has an idea what could be a solution to this problem?

The device should automatically reconnect while coming back into range. If not, as soon as you open the app it should reconnect. If it doesn't reconnect when opening the app we can look into this further…

Forgot to mention: Unpaired, rebooted Instinct, reinstalled Garmin Connect and connected again but no resolution on that matter...

Same problem here with iPhone 12 Pro Max and my new Garmin Instinct Solar. Each time when i am out of range from the phone, the reconnect is not possible. No notifications etc. BT says: connected. If i sync in garmin connect i get the spinning wheel.. and after some time it stops. Thats ist. To solve that i have to turn BT off and on again in the iphone BT settings.

I have a silly reaction from Garmin support; saying this is the designed way... Funny, since I never had this issue before... Sounds like (Dutch) Garmin support doesn't know the solution to this issue, or don't want to take it forward. So far for the 'smart' in this device.

Fact: It´s not iOS fault. I own a few other smartwatches. Tissot, Fossil and Amazfit smartwatches have no connection or BT problem at all with the iPhone. So the Garmin Software is faulty and has to be fixed.

Ok.. Garmin Connect is opened, also Whatsapp. If i get out of range, there seem to be no re-connect to garmin connect. You can switch to garmin connect, push the button to sync. then the 2 arrows are spinning, but there is no sync happening. no connection to device, but BT settings in iPhone say: connected. Thats all. While this disconnection the watch does not receive any notifications etc. Solve: Turn off/on BT manually in iphone settings. Then reconnect is possible and it will run as long as you do not leave the BT range. i could reproduce this many times. Edit: for testing i removed the watch from garmin connect, deleted the app, restored the watch to factory settings and new installed. same problem again.

Thanks for confirming I'm not crazy and it used to work properly ;). This night my Instinct was updated automatically while the Connect App features mentioned where not working. Looks like/ Confirms the BT connection does work but Connect app has an issue.
