Seeking fix: Average pace is NOT lap pace

Can I fix or customize they way my running session stats are reported? Average pace is NOT lap pace, yet Garmin reports them as that, and doesn’t even do that correctly. For example, from my run today Garmin reports Lap 1 Time was 5:37.6 and Avg Pace was 5:37 (it doesn’t even round off correctly). It reports Lap 2 Tme as 5:22.7 and Avg Pace as 5:23, which is both redundant (basically repeating the lap time rounded off) as well as incorrect. The average pace is ( 5:37.6 + 5:22.7)/2 = 5:30, and so on. This is important for calculating splits on longer runs. Can I fix or customize they way my running session stats are reported? • The average pace displayed in that page is the average pace for each lap so if your lap distance is 1 km, time and average pace will always be the same. So, what you see in that page are the correct values (except for the rounding errror for the first lap).

There is no way to see the cumulative average pace AFAIK.

You can use any lap distance you like and if you use anything else than 1 km per lap the average pace will be more useful.
