Uploaded info from my garmin 745 watch doesn’t show all route on maps. Also when data shared from garmin app to strava, full distance not shared

Data share incomplete from watch to app abs from garmin app to strava

  • Do you see the same data in Garmin Connect and in Strava? If yes, then the issue here is only the data synced from your watch to Garmin Connect.

Could you share an activity in Garmin Connect with us so we can see how it looks?
    Browse to here: [https://connect.garmin.com/modern/]
Browse to an activity. Click the pad lock and change privacy to "Everyone" so we can see it. Copy the URL and post it in this thread.

  • Well there are several issues; the whole of the run didn’t save in the mapping on garmin and when connecting to strava the distance and stats for only the part of the run there is mapping on garmin saved across. The watch recorded the full run.

Check out my running activity on Garmin Connect. #beatyesterday

ive tried to allow public view of my profile. New to all this so hope it’s worked. Thanks

  • I can see it. Thanks.

It looks like the first ~14 minutes are missing on the map. That is usually caused by that the activity is started before you got a GPS position. Did you wait for the green GPS signal before you pressed start?

The watch will use the step distance and number of steps to calculate the distance before you get the green GPS so you will both get distance and pace/speed before that but no map.

  • No I didn’t realise I had to do that. The instruction book isn’t that obvious. How do I request gps to activate on the watch /know if it’s got a gps position before I start? Thanks for all your help

  • There is probably a bar at the top after you selected the activity type. It is first red and after a while it turns green. When it is green you got a GPS position.

  • As  mentioned, GPS bar should go from red to green when ready
