Can’t pair my fenix 5 plus to I phone

I have had watch and phone connected fine since June with few issues.  Since the weekend (6 days ago) it’s been sporadic with pairing and leading up to that not all runs were syncing immediately and had to force syncing.

as of two days ago nothing is syncing and when I check garmin connect it is saying device not connected 

I’ve done all the fixes advised - deleted ap and reinstalled and turned watch and phone off and forgot the watch from the phones Bluetooth and tried to readd through the app but to no avail.  I’ve tJoyed the pairing function on the watch and still no result.  I’ve even tried to see if it would work on husbands and no success.  Any more advice before I email - do you think it’s an iSsue with the watch

i tried to see if the WiFi was affected to see if it was an issue with the watch and any connectivity so disconnected the WiFi and readded and it said it was successful

    This is the method that I use when I have issues with sync pairing in the following steps:

    1) Factory reset your watch. Let the watch wait in the language selection screen.

    2) Delete Garmin connect app from the phone.

    3) Forget the device in Bluetooth settings and then turn Bluetooth on and off again.

    4) Install the app on your phone but don't log in yet.

    5) Select your language on the watch and select that you want to connect your phone. (Your phone is waiting for connection now)

    6) Now login to Garmin connect on your phone.

    7) The connection process should work from here.
