Garmin won’t pair with whoop strap

I was paired all last week but on this past Sunday it unpaired and I haven’t been able to pair them since. Anyone else have these issues?

  • HI there! Can you tell me what device you are pairing the Whoop Strap too? Have you tried powering of the device then back on and selecting add new rather than search all to get the Strap to connect?

  • Hi! I’m trying to pair with my Garmin 945. I’ve tried what you suggested, and still no luck. I even restored my phone to default settings and removed all Bluetooth connections, but I still haven’t had any luck.

  • I have a Garmin 1030 and a Whoop 3.0 strap. The HR broadcast was working well up until today, when all of a sudden I got an intermittent HR broadcast (it displayed as zero most of the time and every 5-10 seconds would display my actual HR). I tried repairing the device and it didn't do anything to help. Any tips?

  • Hello! After doing some digging around Whoops website, it looks like you can try this.

    1. Ensure HR Broadcast is ON within the WHOOP app.
    2. Open the Edges menu and scroll down to "Settings."
    3. In the settings menu, select the “Sensors and Accessories” option.
    4. Select “Add New,” then “Search All.” Wait for your WHOOP Strap Serial Number to appear and select it.
    5. Your Strap is now connected and will appear at the bottom of the “Sensors and Accessories” menu. You can connect, disconnect, or remove the Strap from here.
  • Those are instructions for how to pair a strap. I already mentioned my strap is paired, it's just my Garmin isn't picking up the data properly.

  • I am having the same problem as 6010071. Last week I just started getting an intermittent connection exactly as they described. I have paired and unpaired multiple times. It was working perfectly... I think it might be to do with an update for the garmin. I am using the edge 530

Hello! After deleting the strap completely from the device and pairing it back, if this is still not working but it is connecting we will need you to reach out to Whoop for any further troubleshooting.

  • I am also having the same issue described above (intermittent heart rate data, surrounded by 0s). As a professional software developer, and as someone who has used the whoop HR broadcast successfully with other third party apps, I can fairly confidently say this is a Garmin bug.

Please investigate and fix. This is key functionality that is not working as designed.

  • Using an edge 830 if relevant updated with latest software.

  • I also having the same problem with my edge 830.  Very disappointed. I was hoping to use the Whoop strap as a legitimate back up.
