vivoactive s4 disconnects and reconnects to iphone

Within the last two weeks I have had issues with chronic notifications on my Vivoactive S4 that it is disconnected from my Iphone and then it reconnects.   This sometimes happens several times within a minute.   The only things that changed at the time this started 1  I replaced the band on my vivoactive and 2.   I received an iOS update and it seems to have begun within 24 hours of the iOS update.   I have cleaned all the contacts, turned blue tooth on and off, deleted the Vivoactive from the blue tooth list and then did a new add to re-add the device to my phone   I have rebooted numerous times.   I am to the point that I just turn off blue tooth on my phone and then turn it on to update, and turn it back off to keep the thing from driving me insane.   The most recent update took me to iOS 14.4 and the phone is a iPhone 8.   I really hate to turn off blue tooth and then back on but until I figure out what is going on and get it resolved my sanity is worth a little extra effort.

  • I've seen this issue posted a few times. If you aren't seeing an answer here, suggest contacting Garmin directly starting at the Garmin Support Center.

  • I also have an iPhone 8 and 14.4 and a Venu SQ and I don’t know if I get those because honestly I hate those particular notifications coming up whenever I am out of bluetooth range so I just turn them off.  You should be able to turn them off under your watch settings, “phone”, “connected alerts”.  It won’t address why you’re getting them but at least will stop them and allow your watch to sync when needed.

  • Thank you!   That was one setting I hadn't found and tried.   It was driving me nuts.   Right before I read the post it disconnected and reconnected twice.  Now all is peaceful in the world.   Would love to know why it started doing it when it hadn't before the update but your recommendation works just fine.
