unable to pair app with instinct

I have tried every recommendation on the web, but my instinct won't pair with the app, the phone pairs with the watch no problem. ( Iphone12 mini) i get the six digit code and i enter them starts to sync and drops half the way and prompts me to retry. I am about to try to see if I can Up date my watch software manually through the computer. any ideas. I don't want to buy an Iwatch 

  • Hi there! Can you be sure the device is removed from the Bluetooth settings. I would go ahead and sync with Garmin Express on the computer. Then power the watch and remove the device from the Bluetooth settings and be sure its not showing up in the App just yet. Then force close the app so it can refresh. Turn the watch on and put the device in pair mode and then open the Garmin app only to add the device. Let me know if you still experience issues.
