Move IQ activity didn’t register on connect

I tried to test out the move iq earlier by going for a walk. When I got back the only place that it indicated it had picked up an activity was on the daily battery graph, showing the elliptical symbol.  There was no activity registered in connect, nowhere I could see what distance I’d travelled or the time taken.  I ended up manually adding the walk. Am I missing something?

  • Does your watch have the function to autostart activity from Move IQ and it is enabled? If you don't have autostart then Move IQ will just show the activity type and duration.

I've disabled Move IQ since I don't see the point. When I'm doing an activity I will start that activity. FR945 do not have the autostart function so it wouldn't be an option to let it autostart and there is always a risk that it will get the wrong type.

I think you should see the Move IQ events in the daily summary timeline: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/daily-summary/2021-01-31

You should also seem them in the calendar in the app and if you click the day. Scroll down and you see what you have done that day.

  • Move IQ by itself doesn’t do much, I honestly don’t see the point of it alone.   Make sure you have “auto activity start” also turned on and the amount of minutes that need to go by for walking or running before it recognizes a timed activity.
