Garmin Connect Frozen on iPhone

Hello,

My iPhone XR did the latest update last night. On opening the Garmin Connect App this morning it is stuck on the "running man screen". I am not able to close the App at all, nor am i able to turn off the phone because the "running man" screen is not allowing any of my controls to be visible or accessed. does any one have any ideas on how to resolve this, its been like this for 90 mins.
