I have walked a fair bit in the snow today as the buses were cancelled. I was carrying my umbrella but I don't think my steps were recorded. I also walk pushing my nephew and it doesn't clock them... does anyone else have this same problem and can I change a setting to record them at all?

The watch uses an accelerometer to detect steps Any change to normal arm swing will result in an incorrect step total. There is no setting on the watch to change that. Try putting your watch in your pocket if you are holding anything that would cause your arm swing to be altered.
