Garmin Connect Friend Search

I’ve found the Garmin Connect app to be very buggy while attempting to find friends on the platform.

I’ll plug in a name and they never appear in the search list.

I’ve also double checked their privacy settings to make sure the profile was public.

They also don’t appear in the search by phone contacts feature.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, did you get a response to this? I have the same problem, I know for a fact I have freinds with Garmin but their profile is not coming up when I search their name,

If you know it, try searching their email address. Assuming it's the same email used for their login account.

I'm pretty sure the issue has to do with the privacy settings that your friends have set for themselves.

As a test I removed my wife as a connection. I was still able to search her by name. Then I had her change her privacy settings in Garmin Connect. Profile > Edit > Privacy > changed privacy settings from Everyone to Only Me

Went back in under my account and was no longer able to search her by name. But I could by email address.

Searching by email did the trick! Kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Thanks for the suggestion.

I still think it's odd Garmin Connect has this flaw. I'm assuming there's a query limit on the amount of names. They would move to unique identifiers. Email is obvious but they should make that suggestion in the search box.

Anyhow, problem solved. Thanks again.

I double checked the privacy settings. It was set to Everyone. There were quite a few users with the same name so I think Connect is limiting the amount of search results. Can't be certain but that's my hunch.

The person I was trying to add on Garmin Connect. Profile was set to Everyone and yet I still couldn't find that person using search by name. Search by email did the trick.
