My iPhone 8 won’t sync with new vivomove HR

I bought a vivomove HR fir Christmas and tried to pair with iPhone 8. I get through the pairing process, I enter the code from my watch in the Garmin connect app. Then the app says it couldn’t complete connection with the watch as it’s not in Bluetooth pairing mode. If I go to my Bluetooth settings the watch is connected to the phone but not syncing with or connected to the app. I have also tried connecting to an iPad with same issue. I gave turned both on and off numerous times, disconnected and reconnected as well as uninstall app and reinstall. I also tried connecting watch to Garmin express on two different computers and it said that my watch wasn’t compatible for use with Garmin express. Is there a fault with the watch as none of the information I have found has worked?
