Same for the iPhone or android devices. There are certain functions within the app that do rotate, such as splits/laps and charts. You also have the option to open Garmin Connect Web from the iPad's web browser. Might not be the best user experience, but rotation is available like any other web site.
The app isn’t designed for iPad. I doubt that will change anytime soon.
It would if customer needs were paramount.

I would like to see this fixed as well. Just a guess, but I think it's a generational thing. So many smartphone/iPad users don't know and don't care that landscape mode exists. So the requests and cases to Garmin Support are minimal. Maybe I'm too old.
