Connect 4.37 no longer syncing with with Apple Health.

This morning (I’m in Europe), 13. Nov 2020, Garmin Connect had updated to v4.37 overnight.

Now Connect will sync with my Approach S60 and my Index Smart Scale, but not with Apple Health - and what’s more, all the previous data for the last few years have been deleted from Apple Health as well. The data is in Connect, but not in Health.

iOS version 14.1

  • After owning a garmin for over 20 years, I’m waiting for a Suunto to arrive in the mail. I’ve had it with garmin’s complete failure to support their users. They put out products with no guidance on how to use them. When you have to go to a YouTube video made by a “super-user” to find out you have to purchase additional maps and apps, after purchasing a $500.00 watch, there is a problem - too many problems. And what’s more insulting is that you never get an answer from garmin on these forums. The fenix5 was the finale. DONE.

  • I love my new Polar Vantage V. It works, the app works and it even syncs with Apple Health Grinning

  • Me too thinking move to polar

  • Have you found a way to power off the vantage?

have you found a way to navigate with the vantage?

how long does it take to get a GPS signal?

for me every device has pro and cons. Imstay with garmin, even if their software sometimes „sucks“

  • I have the same issue, Garmin deleted all my data in Apple Health. Many years back...

Many times I contacted the support, first reaction was, it‘s not our fault, it‘s Apple, then the confirmed it’s a Garmin fault. But they do nothing...

This is an official Garmin forum, are there no Garmin people who read these threads?

I‘m totally fed up with Garmin, I have the fourth or fifth Garmin watch, but it’s over now.

The solution could be so easy, just make an option in Garmin connect, to synchronize ALL data, not only 30 days. Everyone can decide then to do it or not

  • Technical solution is easy but garmin doesn’t want send your data in another platform.

garmin changed their API in 2016 introducing limitation of 30days from other app

so, garmin it’s the only app that storage all your data and you are forced to stay with them.

all post I read talk about missing data in apple health.

True issue is this: garmin manage your personal data and doesn’t let you take them over their system!!!!

  • Yes you are totally right!

Only one thing to mention, even with that 30 days limit, everything worked fine until Garmin deleted without my permission my historical data in Apple Health.

    I will not accept this!!!

Bugs can happen, of course, but it’s awful that Garmin does not communicate with their customers. If they would tell me, yes we know, there is an issue, we will fix it in about 3 weeks or so, everything would be fine for me. But they don‘t communicate at all!

Totally agree, we have all to call the support and ask for this, retrieve all of our years of data !!!

    Same problem here

  • Are there no Garmin people here to help?

Or at least tell us, that Garmin doesn‘t care about this anymore and we should forget our data?
