Connect 4.37 no longer syncing with with Apple Health.

This morning (I’m in Europe), 13. Nov 2020, Garmin Connect had updated to v4.37 overnight.

Now Connect will sync with my Approach S60 and my Index Smart Scale, but not with Apple Health - and what’s more, all the previous data for the last few years have been deleted from Apple Health as well. The data is in Connect, but not in Health.

iOS version 14.1

  • I also have the same issue!  Not cool.

Garmin have raised this as an issue and are working on a resolution.

I found their support contact (Australia) very good once we got past the usual basic checks. They asked be to submit the app logs with instructions on how to do it.

I think the initial denial was that an apple update had came out at the same time. however as I hadn't updated to the new ios it was clear to the service assist that it was the App upgrade that had caused the problem.

they have added the data ive provided to 's support case as the more data they have will hopefully mean they will be able to isolate and fix the issue sooner.

  • Interesting, I was in contact with Garmin support (Europe) as well, and initially they tried to fob me off, saying I have to upgrade to iOS 4.2 (I’m on 4.1 at the moment), then tried to blame Apple Health, saying I should contact Apple.

I had to use some quite strong language back at them, for them to take me seriously. After a few emails back and forth, they finally asked for the logs off Connect. With apologies for not taking me seriously at first.

Now they said that product development is working on the issue (whatever that means)...

  • interesting, different Garmin support gave different replies. Garmin APAC support just replied a new Connect version is being worked on, didn't even ask for logs or further questions. Guess a lot of people already feedback to them

  • Great news if they can fix it, but they also have to get back all the lost data from several years !!!

  • Garmin better hurry up. Those Apple Watches are looking mighty tempting this Black Friday!

  • Yes very tempted to switch to Apple or one of the other sports watches as Garmin Support are useless - they seem to be telling different people different things as this is the response I received yesterday:

    Thank you for your email.

While we are not experts on the Apple Health app so it may be hard to look into. To us as long as the data on the Garmin Connect is fine, that's all we can mainly help with.

I can recommend this article which may help - Data from My Garmin Connect Account Is No Longer Syncing over to My Third-Party App

Has anyone had any updates on if/when Garmin will fix the problem?  Or if they will?

  • Wow thats a s**** answer. It show how disconnected Garmin is. The only reason I still buy Garmin is because of the ability to sync with Apple Health. I could care less about Connect if it was necessary to accomplish this.

I got a better answer I hope is actually true.

“Hello! We are currently investigating this issue as it appears to be affecting multiple users, and are in the process of releasing an update within the next couple of days to hopefully address this.”

  • I’m coming from apple watch. Fantastic fitness monitoring side (step, sleep, etc) but very poor runner side. I bought garmin for runner side but not think it was very poor fiteness side.
so, I don’t know, we have use two devices? Mmm

someone can tell something about polar?

  • yes, I recently went from a Garmin watch to Apple Watch. I run a few time's with it and for me it works fine but I'm more of a cyclist and that's why I find it so frustrating that now my workouts from my edge won't load to health along with my weight data from my Garmin scale. I'm fed up with these company's who want you to buy everything from there eco-system! it's gonna backfire on them.
