Garmin connect app crashing when starting app on iPhone.

I have had a Garmin inspire solar for about two weeks now and it has synced with my iPhone 8+ without issues with syncing or the app, but now the app crashes whenever I try to open it. I have tried deleting and re downloading the app, which results in being able to open the app to set it up but as soon as I close it and try to open again, the crashing starts again. I have also tried restarting my phone and Garmin, disconnecting the Garmin from Bluetooth, disallowing and reallowing Garmin connect to access data in Apple health, and all yield the same results. I am at a total loss.

  • I would contact Garmin Support. They will likely have you submit a crash report to see what the problem is. I assume you're using version 4.35.

  • App is not opening for me after iOS 14 update. Sent an email to Garmin

  • I have the same issue on my iPhone XR. It was working fine till yesterday. After i installed iOS 14 this issue started since this morning.

  • Installed IOS14 and Connect is not opening.  The app crashes instantly.  WTF??

    My app is crashing as well. Issue started yesterday 

  • thanks for posting this. I have the same issue and have also tried all the uninstall/reinstall/restart etc. Still on iOS 13.7, issue only started in last 24hrs.

  • Instant app crash on startup here... iOS 14 and iOS 13 on iPad... 

  • ...restarted phone, turned off health app, deleted and reinstalled... problem still remains... I guess it’s an update issue being worked on?

  • So I ended up starting a chat with garmin support and explained that I had no issues until I had finished my most recent activity and tried to view it in the app. He had me download garmin express to my laptop, connect my garmin and check for updates (there were none), and then sync it with express. He then had me use the windows button+e function to pull up the data from my garmin instinct and delete the most recent activity from the “activities” folder. From there I just had to delete the connect app from my phone and re download and as of right now it is working, actually better than before so I am thinking the app update caused some sort of catch.
    I know the process may be slightly different on a Mac but they were very helpful at support with providing specific steps for me. 

  • The same here - I have checked 8 (ios 13.0), 11 PRO (ios 13.7), 11 (ios 14.0) - only issue with my account app instantly crashing. Wife's account is working fine. Tried reinstalling app many times, resetting device (Fenix 6S PRO), and Garmin Express tricks - no progress, still crashing.
