vivoActive 4 doesn't auto-connect over night but within a few minutes.

When my brand new vivoActive 4 is not near to my iPhone, e.g. over night, for a few hours - on the next day the watch doesn't auto-connect to my iPhone.

During a test with 2-3 minutes it does auto-connect.

With the vivoActive HR I never had this problem for the past 4 years.

Connect-App doesn't run in the background and was never required.

I use the watch also in office and only watch is vibrating when a call comes in etc. but I miss the calls when there is no connection. I have to manually connect every morning.

Any idea?

    I have the same problem

  • Might not be paired correctly. Try the instructions in this video (there is a specific sequence), make sure to restart both your iPhone and watch. Other things to try is connect your watch via USB to a Windows or Mac computer to make sure you have all updates using Garmin ExpressIf still no joy, open a case with Garmin Support.

Did you managed to fix this issue? I have same problem with my Forerunner 645 and my wife's Vivoactive 3.

In the morning when I lay my iPhone - which was in the bedroom above - beside / near the watch - it connects now most of the time (no Connect-app is running) or at least after 5-30 minutes? I have to monitor it for some days and report here.

For me it looks like the connection works better than weeks ago but not perfect. My old Vivoactive HR was definitely much faster.

Today I was running, came back and it connected to the iPhone but I think I'd started "Connect" software on iPhone. When I start it - the connection always works.

Until today there were at least 2-3 software updates to the watch (currently SW-version is 5.10, WiFI is 2.60),

I will monitor it a week now and will give feedback here.

  • Hi, as I wrote below .. after 2 weeks - I'd no issues anymore. They connect now every time. Never noticed that they were not connected when telephone call in the morning etc. they were connected in the meantime.

I also have to say that iOS is 14.2 now - and I'm not sure if this has something to do.

Often I'd problems with NFC to pay in super markets. In only worked for ~ 30 %. But since 14.2 (maybe one version before also) - I never had problems with NFC anymore.

I know - NFC is different against Bluetooth - but maybe Apple fixed 2 things?

I hope it works for you also in the meantime.
