How do I get my new Garmin watch to measure accurately? It clocks each km too soon

Since getting my new Garmin I’ve been clocking ridiculously fast times over 5kms. Today I did a comparison with Strava on my phone. Over the 5km course it clicked each km atleast 100metres short on the Garmin.

Have you compared the tracks to see that they are the same?

Yes same track at the same time. I had 2 devices going. The track is my regular Parkrun track so I know where the 5km finish line is. Last week I used both devices together and there was a 300metre difference between the 2 devices.

Check the track points and note if once device start late or cuts the corners.

It would be great if you could share two activities. One with your new Garmin device and one with the old one. Remember to make them public.
