The steps on the watch are not the same as in the ap alrhough I did sync to my iphone. how do I fix that

The steps from my run today aren’t counted. My other steps are. This has not happened before

I’ve run 11.49 miles this morning. Miraculously I have completed this distance in 3,490 steps?! Understand if I was very tall? But I’m 6’1”. Impossible
