Maybe you guys can help. I finished a run today and went to look at it on the Garmin app and I had to sign in. I haven’t had to sign in in a year or two. Once I was signed in all my history and my connections were gone.

Nope it’s all gone off of that too. My watch still has all my activities on it but it won’t sync that information to the app. It shows my HR and steps though.
I suspect you're not logging in with your original account. Especially considering you haven't logged in in over a year..

Same issue here. Assuming the app did an update. I had to sign into it, which worked ok. But then it was asking me to re-pair my Edge. Couldn't figure out how to get the Edge into pairing mode, came on here, and found these threads about data loss. Now I'm scared to pair it, but I'm headed out for a metric century at 5am and need live tracking to work.
So far so good. I did have to redo my Livetrack settings, those were off. But my data seems to be intact. It also asked me to link Strava etc, but I skipped all that because I didn't want to overwrite anything if it was still working. Will see how tomorrow's ride goes.
