Vivosmart 4 syncing problems

Having multiple problems with syncing my vivosmart 4 with iphone 8 on IOS 13.4.1. Activities are not syncing, steps go missing and now in the last 24 hours the connection has been completely lost and I've had to restart both my phone and the vivosmart. Issues are seemingly common and are described and well explained in several posts on a previous forum thread called vivosmart syncing issues. That thread has been closed as "as fix has been rolled out". My device is only 1 month old, both the device and the Garmin connect app are up-to-date and these issues are still occurring. The "fix" is not effective, please re-open this issue.

  • As far as your syncing problems, start here, if you haven't already: Garmin Connect App Bluetooth Troubleshooting

If still no improvement, here's more detailed troubleshooting. It's in the android forum, but most of it pertains to iOS as well: Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide

Same issue here.  It’s not you.  Mine issues started after the last update to the mobile app.  For me, it appears to sync, but 100% of the data doesn’t show. I found I have to plug my Vivo in and resync and it does ok.  Seems odd that The issue seems to have started with the GCM update, so I checked and my vivo is on SW 4.6, so maybe that has something to do with it as well?  I agree though, if it was working well for a while, and you haven’t changed things, then there’s likely another issue.

My device is not syncing..the help advice says to use a computer to check for update, but I only have Ipad..

  • Kinda nice to find that more people are having this problem as well. And not just 4 months ago when it was "fixed" the last time. Running the latest software om my phone and tracker and just about 24 hours ago it stopped syncing most of the data. No sleep, no body battery, pulse displayed real time but no graph and no workouts. Haven't been able to restart the device since I'm away and don't have a charger available so I'm basically running a digital watch with zero functionality for a couple of days.

  • Also my IPhone 7 does not sync with forerunner 35 since 2 days.... pretty frustrating !!! Done everything possible on BTH, restarting, delating and redownloading app. Etc...

  • If you've done everything, including every step on the 2 links I posted earlier, then best to contact Garmin via the Garmin Support Center. Phone or chat for faster service.

  • I only have Ipad.

If you cannot borrow someone's computer to update, then try resetting your device. The process for doing this varies depending on which device you have.

  • Yeah I saw the links you posted and scrolled through them. Why I posted in the thread before trying everything is because I want garmin to know about the issue. The "fix" from a couple of months ago in version  4.50 obviously didn't work 100% since I'm running 4.60 and ran into the same problem. I also realise it probably can be solved temporarily by restarting the device but I just don't think that should be required when it obviously is a fault in the software since it happened out of nowhere in daily use.

  • The troubleshooting works but three days or so later the problem reoccurs and I lose another half an hour of my life fannying around to make it work again.

  • three days or so later the problem reoccurs

In that case, you might need to contact Garmin Support. Could be an issue with your device.
