My watch says the wrong date and time and I’m unable to manually change it - I’ve tried to reset factory settings but it hasn’t resolved the issue. Please could you advise.

many thanks

  • Which Garmin device? Depending on which device, you should be able to set it to automatic. Then go for an outdoor activity to sync the correct time based on your GPS location.

Hi my Garmin watch is showing the wrong time on the analogue watch but the digital time is correct and date. Can you help? My watch is a garmin vivomove3s

  • Interesting. You can try setting it manually, then setting it back to automatic.

I’m having the same issue with my vivofit3.  The battery had died so I replaced it but since then it’s been wrong....I have tried syncing with my phone but no luck.  I’ve even done a run and then synced again, and I’ve paired with my iPad as a new device and synced but the time and date just won’t change! Help

  • If you've tried the basic fixes, next step would be to do a factory reset. The device gets its date and time from GPS so it should be correct as long as there is nothing wrong with the GPS data on the device. Doing a factory reset would fix that.

Also, you can fix the ephemeris data file. Connect the watch with USB cable to the computer, and check for updates with Garmin Express. You need doing it regularly - GPS cannot work reliably and quickly without fresh ephemeris data. Read more about it here: https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=CevbI1mlnV2SejYAaOQZ29

Thanks.  I can’t see how to connect the watch device to a computer as there is nothing apart from the battery.

how do I do a factory reset without loosing the data already stored in the app?

Sorry, the vivofit 3 does not have a USB cable to connect to your computer. You sync to your computer using an optional USB ANT stick - Pairing Your Computer
