Heart rate data not shared correctly with Apple Health from 830 Cycling

I've done multiple rides on my 830 and the heart rate data is stored correctly within Garmin Connect and the 530 but then not sent over correctly to Apple Health, virtually no HR data is sent at all to Apple Health.

See screenshots from GC IOS and Apple Health.

I have the same problem but when I look at records in Apple health raw data heart rate is being recorded, I think Apple isn’t showing it

    1. Same problem but I think problem lies in part with apple as the data does show in ‘all recorded data’area but the garmin data record isn’t written till way after the apple summary appears. Sorry I can’t add screen shots to this reply from my iPhone
  • Anyone find a solution to this? This seems to be related to how Garmin stores the HR data. I use RunGap to store the data which writes the data to apple health.  I was hoping it would correct the data layout issue but it didn’t.

I’m returning this $600 watch if there is no solution to this issue. Something as basic as writing HR data to Apple Health shouldn’t be an issue, yet here we are. I use cyclemeter and that app is able to store the HR information correctly in Apple Health.

This is a Garmin issue not an Apple issue. Garmin is failing to store the HR information correctly in Apple Health!

  • Are u kidding?  Do you test this solution? No one in whole world can fix this bug. Because Garmin dont do this right.

  • I assume, according to following Garmin Support article , that this is an expected  behaviour, rather than a bug:

    https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=lK5FPB9iPF5PXFkIpFlFPA

So, Apple Health app can receive some data from Garmin Connect and for heart rate it will receive  "only the high and low heart rate values from timed activities recorded on your Garmin device. This may result in heart rate graphs for activities from Connect showing as "Chart Unavailable" in the Apple Activity app."

Although this is not completely true. I have also Apple Watch and I can confirm that there were no Garmin's min/max or any other  HR records  in Health app HR data list (Garmin Connect is on the first place in the Health data sources list). This is for sure a bug.

As a workaround I usually track my activity (ride) with edge 530 and Apple Watch simultaneously.
