Weather Alert can't be turned off

Why does the Weather Alert slider always return to "enabled" in the connect app and then popping up in my Edge as "Sea weather alert" when I start a ride. VERY annoying!!!!!!

I think it's interesting that this is over a year ago and there's no solution, happens to me all the time.

This was answered on the Garmin Connect Mobile android forum. Some of the same steps will also apply to iOS. Possibly getting turned on again after every app update.
