Today's ride won't upload to Garmin Connect

I did a ride today which I wanted to upload to tmy Garmin Connect account online. When I rode I didn't have my iPhone with me so when I got home I opened Garmin Connect on my iPhone and confirmed that it was connected to my Edge 1030. Then I went to History > Rides > Today's Ride and then used the option Upload. Uploading Ride spun for awhile and then it said Upload Failed. Tried it several times and the upload always fails.

I tried it with an older software version (can't remember the number) and then updated to 9.34 and it still doesn't work.

What to do?

  • Connect your Edge via USB to your computer then look for the file in the  folder "GARMIN\NEWFILES." Your ride should be in there. Zip the file then send it as an attachment to this thread. Then we can take a look at it and see what could be wrong. Alternatively, you can try to fix it yourself using fitfiletools.com

Thanks, but I think the file itself is fine. I went to the Garmin Connect website and uploaded the file directly to there from the Edge 1030 which was connected via USB to my iMac. Having the info on Garmin Connect website is what matters to me.

  • Sounds like your issue is with the app, so I'm moving this thread to the Garmin Connect Mobile iOS forum

2020-04-13-10-48-15.fit.zip Here is the file. Is there anything you can discern from it?

It seems I'm suffering like gazillions for whom my Garmin files won't upload to my iPhone via Garmin Connect. So my workaround is to upload the .fit files directly to the Garmin Connect Website. I would rather have the convenience of the iPhone doing that automatically, but I can do it through the website if the syncing fails. I like seeing the activity profile on my big 27" screen rather than the little iPhone which is why using the Garmin Connect website is important to me. Thanks, all.

  • I also did a ride today and my Garmin 530 is not uploading my ride even after many attempts. It says it is connected to my phone though.

Is there anyone that can help me get it to upload?

  • I had this same issue but to make it upload I just made sure my Garmin 530 was connected to the personal hot spot on my phone.

If you want to try this just go into your connect app click on the more button on the bottom right

Go to Garmin Devices and then click on whatever Garmin you have connected. Then click general and then WiFi networks. Once you are there you can connect it to you hot spot which allowed it to upload my ride.

    Good luck!
