My Garmin 235 is no longer syncing.

My iPhone, which was never connected can not locate the device. My iPad which has always been connected is not working.  The last successful download was about ten days ago. The Bluetooth setting on my IPad lists the Garmin 235, but says “Not Connected”.  I even tried to delete the Garmin from the IPad Bluetooth, but I am not able to do so.  Bluetooth works fine with other devices.  

When I go to the Bluetooth menu on my watch, it says “waiting to connect”

When I go to Pair Mobile Device, I get this message after an attempt to connnect:

”Follow steps on Garmin Connect Mobile to pair.”    I’m not sure what that means.
