Bluetooth + iOS + Forerunner 735XT

Hi! I recently switched phones and, due to injury, haven't been super active in awhile so I haven't been wearing my watch. Now that I'm able to cycle again, I'd like to sync up my Forerunner 735XT with my iPhone Pro Max (iOS 13.3.1). Since it's a new phone, I installed Garmin Connect -- but it won't "see" my watch in Bluetooth.

I've tried uninstalled, reinstalled, ensuring Bluetooth is on in every which setting I can find (including the Connect app). But alas, no luck. I really have zero interest in getting a different watch but I will if I have to. I'm equally concerned about connecting my Garmin Edge but haven't even started that process yet as I can't get my darn watch to work.

  • Good evening, I think you have to start by connecting your forerunner to your pc via the USB cable provided. Then you install Garmin express on your PC. This way you update your watch and normally afterwards you should be able to connect it to your iPhone. For your Garmin Edge, same principle.
