Pause a swim without setting a new interval

Hi all,

I use my 935 mostly for running and cycling but I’ve just started swimming with it too. Today in the pool I had to stop for a second to adjust my goggles, and found that if I used the pause button, it started a whole new interval. This didn’t bother me until I noticed that Garmin hadn’t logged my new fastest time records, presumably as a result of this. Is there any way to pause a swim, as for example, I do when I have to cross a busy road when I’m running, without it recording a new interval?

  • I encountered the same issue today and it resulted in over-swimming. I have my watch set up to alert me every 10 laps (250m). At the 650m mark I had to adjust my goggles so I paused my watch. Resumed and kept swimming - counting the 10-lap alerts until I thought I'd swam 1500m but it was 1650m because the watch marked an interval when I paused it - not the behaviour I was expecting, doesn't happen when running or cycling.

I'd really like a way to disable the marking of an interval when a swim is paused. It would be great if the functionality was the same as running and cycling, and if you want to mark an interval before pausing you hit the lap key.
