Apple Health displays double the calories and steps after physical activity.

That’s because they add all the steps with a different time range, instead of doing like any other app, which is to add steps in small chunks of one or few minutes, so that iOS could take the data from just one source instead of multiple ones.

I suggest you to disable GC from writing data on Apple Health and you’ll be fine. Other apps just work because they don’t pretend it’s a bug on Apple part.

I prefer to run without my phone - so I just delete all iPhone data every day.

In case I don’t use my watch I use the iphone data as it is.

So I assume that Garmin just has zero intention of fixing this problem ?  Guess ill just trow both of my watches in the drawer and look to see what Apple brings for their next watch.

I use rungap to bring the data in, but it can't do steps. I gave up on Garmin, they seem to not care - this problem has been going on for YEARS.

If apple comes out with something that can complete, I'll likely bail.  Still really upsetting I have to pay money for a third party tool to do what garmin should be doing all along.

Same here, and I actually replaced mine with the Apple Watch 7. I know it isn’t a purpose built, and lacks a bunch of the specialty stuff that the garmin has, but this entire situation has burned me for garmin products. 

Lack of response or action is pretty ridiculous. 

They could blame apple, except their watch doesn’t even write data to Google Fit. 

Disappointed. 

Yeah. They blame Apple, but tons of other apps don't have this issue, like Strava, Peloton, etc..

If they want to push people further toward Apple this is a great way to do it.. Especially as Apple is making a huge push in fitness lately.
