Apple Health displays double the calories and steps after physical activity.

Hello

after the latest update of Garmin Connect, Apple health displays the double of calories and steps after physical activity (e.g. running).
The values are correct in Garmin Connect, but if I open Health and ask to visualize the source data, I see that Garmin Connect is sending a packet with twice the value. As it was counting the calories, steps, and distance from running on top of the running itself.

Could you please check it?

Bruno

i use a Vivoactive 3, but I don’t think that the issue comes from the watch.

  • I understand the frustration completely and my goal here is to hopefully have a positive update for you that will turn this around sooner than later.

  • Thanks a lot! The same applies for biking with Garmin Connect too. I have an issue open.

  • Dear

do you have already a due date of when this issue is going to be solved?

here is another frustrated user who switched from Apple Watch to Garmin to have better data quality and reliability, but I’m not having that.
Besides this thread and loads of other users, I’m also facing this issue for over an year now.

when can we expect a resolution?

    thank you,

    Rafael

Hello! I do not have a date or timeline for when this will be resolved, but would like to reiterate again that we are actively working on this issue and I will update this thread when I have more info to share.

Just to clarify, this issue does not impact the accuracy or reliability of the data recorded on your Garmin directly. I do however understand that this has a negative affect on your overall experience and apologize for this. I appreciate your patience while a resolution is reached on our end.
  • Hi ,

Don't mean to sound pushy, but do you have any updates on this by any chance?

    Thanks,

    Stefan

  • Thank you for the reply .

In response to your point, that the source data is accurate: As you know many integrated apps reference Apple Health for our Garmin Activity data. The impact of breaking our data as it imports to Apple Health is exponential, as it corrupts every down stream client. (as a result of corrupting our Apple Health Data)

Like many others, I have had to disconnect my Fenix 6 from Apple Health completely, relegating it to a VERY niche use for me. Instead of it being my "go to watch", it is now my "Wear it when I want a coaching workout" device. This is a disappointing value considering the expense.

Please do post an ETA as it becomes available. I would think this bug would be a hot item due to the continuing impact. 6+ months to fix a bug, that was previously functioning, feels unresponsive. (Considering the millions of iPhone users.. )

  • Same happening with fénix 6

    following thread

  • I have this issue on my 6X and it’s super annoying.

  • Hello , is there any update on this topic? It has been over 2 months already and no more reply from Garmin.
Please make a statement from your side for me and for the community that is awaiting for this resolution.

    Thank you,

    Rafael

  • To add to this, it doesn't only happen on Apple's Health app.  It also happens on MyFitnessPal.  This is beyond frustrating.
