If GC app is NOT running, no notifications in watchfaces except for factory watchfaces?

NowI have a Fenix 5+ (earlier had an F3HR).

Earlier I always let GC app run on my iphone and was happy to see notifications on any watchfaces on F3HR.

When I acquired F5+ I realized that its battery consumption a bit higher than it was on F3HR.

So I made some experiments, I closed GC app, used factory watchfaces etc.

I was happy to realize that on F5+ the factory watchfaces can show notifications even if GC app is not running.

I concluded all of my tests that "running GC app" is the one which sucks the battery of F5+ most.

But at the same time I observed that my favourite watchface, Nofrills, does not show notifications if GC app is not running.

Is there any NON-built-in, custom watchface which can show notifications even while GC app is NOT running? Like the default digital watchface?

Garmin support answered:

”I am afraid we cannot answer that question, the custom watch faces are not Garmin made and are made by other people/groups. Therefore we cannot answer which does what, you can contact the developers of all the apps in the Connect IQ app and ask them but I believe most of them should be able to do it.”

I am having exactly the same problem with my Vivoactive 4S with the NO FRILLS face, did you manage to sort your problem out?

Yes!!!!

I got rid of NoFrills.

It is evident that HermoT has disappeared from the group of active app developers. Sometimes I have a fear that we lost him/her? completely.

It is so strange that none of his/her apps have been updated since October 2019, although eg NoFriĺs has 1.6 milliin downloads.
